R.I.S 50th Jubilee

Well the other week on Friday, it was a long day. Why? Because our school R.I.S had our 50Th Jubilee. So really we were just celebrating that our school R.I.S is 50yrs old. We have had a few builders and other people to make a sculpture. The sculpture is called Manaia and it is made out of marble.
So at the start of the day we all got into our class lines and sat outside waiting to be let go, and sit on the courts. So we got let go line by line. As a house we all walked into the gymnasium and sat down in class lines. Every house walked. But the only thing that sucked was that we weren't aloud to talk, whisper, fidget, or even move. It was so boring!
We had heaps of old people that talked about there past times at R.I.S. Some of them mumbled, repeated there words, or talked really slow or either really fast. It was so boring hearing other people mumble out random words. It took so long for all the visitors to enter the gym and find a seat. There was heaps of people that came to this school and that talked. We also sang the National Athem and also a few more songs after Purple house presented a powhiri. Overall we sat in the gym for at least 2 1/2 hours non stop. But Finally it was all over everyone had finished blabbering on about there past times. As we were walking out the gym house by house. I told the teachers that I was so bored that I counted 987 tiles on the roof and 66 lights. Now can you see how boring it was???
We walked outside and stood by the statue and stood up in lines. We had been practising a haka for so long just to bless the statue. So as a whole school we performed the haka. It felt so good. Then we did our school prayer. A few people talked about the statue and what it will achieve through out the school. So anyway if your feeling sad and a litte bit down and lonely all we have to do is go and sit inside of the statue and it should cheer you up.
After we had finished blessing the statue, Gold House ran to our tree were a few students were cooking up a sausage sizzle. We all got to eat two sausages each with tomato sauce I might add. So overall we had quite a good day and it did get boring but I guess it was for a good cause.

Friday 21st November

Aquatic Centre
On Friday 21st November the whole gold house/digital team went to the aquatic centre. Why? because our team won this raffle thing and we sold the most groceries against all the teams in our school.

But anyway at the aquatic centre I think we all got sun burnt. We all got dropped off by our parents at the aquatic centre around 8:15 in the morning. Some of us got dropped off by our teachers. Finally our team leader turned up. My mate and I went and helped our team leader carry her laptop and stuff. We all walked in and went and sat down were we got told the safety rules and we had a roll call to make sure that all of us were safe and were at the aquatics unless we had told our teachers that we were not going. Then we went and sat outside on these wooden steps. We got told to lather ourselves in sunblock.
Then we all sprinted down the steps and jumped into the soothing warmish water.
At first me and my friend played volleyball. A few more people joined in and we all had fun. Getting closer to lunch time we started playing piggy in the middle, and we had these competitions such as the handstand competition, Who can hold their breath for the longest, and many more. As lunch time came we all got out and had a little feed.
We then sat under the trees and had prize giving. There were 8 awards that each teacher had given out to a student that had either have tried hard all year round or all of a sudden just shone through. Some of my mates got certificates or badges.
Once that was all over I put some more sunblock on and we said to Matua that he had to come in. Eventually he did. My friends and I jumped back in the pool, but first we went into the inside of the aquatics and bought some food and this drink. We ate that and ran back into the pool. We all played volley ball with Matua and a few more people. Our team WON!!!
After volley ball me and a few mates had another handstand competition. We kept on cheating, because as soon as one person went up to take a breath we would go under again. As the end of the day got closer we all just mucked around, having water fights.
Near the end of the day me and my best mate kind of got fed up of being in the water for most of the day so we got out and got changed. As we were walking back me and my best friend saw a girl from another class siting by herself with a big graze down her leg, and she was crying. We asked her what had happened and she said these boys pushed her over these steps on purpose. Our team leader had seen her and she talked to the boys who pushed her over.
As the end of the day came my mum came and picked me and my brother up to take us home. We all got sunburnt but we all had a really good time.

Thursday 6th November

Electives
This Morning we had electives I'm in Dance, In B4. At the moment we are all doing 3 dances. 1 dance as the whole group who are in dance and every session we add a new move or practice our class dance for a warm up. For our second Dance we are in groups of 3-5. In my group we have 5 girls all from my class B2. For our third Dance we are trying to do a dance from YouTube, its actually quite hard and one move we kind of look like we are doing a penguin dance or something!!! But also for another move we look like chickens. For our group dance we touched up the chorus and it looks really good, and then one of my Friends taught the whole group a move so we added that to our dance. We also added part of this disco line dance in it.
But so Far so Good I think our whole group is happy with what we have got so far. But the only thing is finding new moves so if you have any please help me and my group out.
Also just before lunch we had this Health Expo Thing going on in our school gymnasium. One of my Horse Riding Instructors was there as a Nurse. She gave me and one of my mates a jelly, a yogurt, and two moro gold bars.
There were heaps of displays and fun activites, and some were grose to. We entered in heaps of draws, competitions, and Quiz's. There were heaps of people that you could ask questions and ask stuff about Smoking, Drinking, Puberty, Alcohol, and lots more. We also got to get spun around on a stool and then we had to run up crack this circle and all these little shapes would fall out, then we had to put it back together and put the shapes into the holes. It was quite tricky but thats what you would feel like if you were drunk.
!I learnt heaps and got some cool free stuff and our dance looks good to!

2008 Foals

...2008 Foals...
On the 15Th of October at 2:05 in the morning, Didget one of our Bay Thoroughbred Ponies had a foal. The Foal looks exactly like Didget and is a colt. He is quite Boisterous and Feisty. The foals Sire is Aloha Desert Prince. We got to see Didget have her foal and it wasn't very pretty. Didget doesn't mind her foal running round like crazy as she has had a foal before. Like once it had just finished raining and I started Riding Billy, my 5yr old Chestnut Gelding and the foal was galloping round in circles and cut the corner, fell on is side and skidded to the other side of the paddock. I thought it was hurt but he got straight back up and started galloping around again. But then on the 1st of November Flame, my Mums Arab who she did endurance on had a cute little foal. Its another colt, and its so cute it looks like Flame but it has two white socks on its hind legs. It also has two Black front Hooves and two White Back Hooves. The Sire of Flames foal is Holme Park Flute. None of us knew that she was going to foal because she showed no signs, but now she is really protective about her little foal and she is a good first time Mum. We haven't named any of them yet. Quilla is also due to have a foal on the 19th of November. Mum thinks that she is going to foal tonight because she has shown some signs, like kicking at her belly, flicking her tail and being a little to over protective. The Sire of Quilla's foal is Anamour. He is a really good Dressage Horse. And speaking about Anamour I got to ride him down in Palmerston. He kept on trying to bite my feet. It was quite scary and he is so tall and chunky. A Few days after Didget had foaled Mum and I realised that all of our broodmares went to black Stallions.
Anamour was so cool, and the foals are as cute as a puppy or kitten. But Didget's foal is not that friendly but Flames Foal will walk straight up to you and let you pat him and cradle him, I wonder what Quilla's Foal is going to look like and what its temperament is going to be.

Labour Day Gymkhana

!Labour Day Gymkhana!
On Monday 27Th October I went to the Ngongotaha Labour Day Gymkhana with Smokey one of my Aunty's ponies that I'm riding for her as Smokey has only been on the lead rein. I entered into the Intermediate Ring. me and Smokey did quite well, Smokey is a dappled gray 8yr old gelding he is 12.3 hands high and has a blue wall eye on his left side. He has never jumped before so Monday was just going to be for Milage. But hay in the end we got a 1st for rider on the flat and another 1st for best paced and mannered mount, we also won a 2ND for rider over jumps, a 3rd for handy hunter and a 4Th for best pony club mount because as I was going to canter Smokey did this Pig root.
At the end of the day I got the Judges Choice sash, is is so huge. I got that because at the start when we jump Smokey would canter up to the jump stop just before the jump and then he would leap over them but near the end of the jumping he would just canter straight up to the jump and he would jump it nicely and confidently. Smokey was so good and I'm so proud of him.
